St Timothy's, Hatchet Lake
St Paul's, Terence Bay, NS

An Anglican Parish inspired by God's Will to know, sow and grow.

PWRDF’s 2018 resources were created around the theme of Empowered Women, Empower Women. As Advent unfolds, we invite you to take a journey through the Bible and discover — or rediscover — the women at its heart, beginning December 2 with Eve, “the mother of all humanity” and ending on Christmas Day, with Mary, “the mother of all Christians.”

10,000 Villages Sale!  Outreach around the world!  Beautiful Products that help girls out of forced prostitution, feed families who otherwise have no income, recycle and reuse to make beautiful items more beautiful than you can imagine.  Even bombshell jewelry from Cambodia.

Sharing our talents and treasures with purchases more meaningful than any other.

Mission:  Soak your sole (and soul).  Women are visiting women to offer a pampering, foot and hand soaks, massages and polish.  That's only the beginning.  The conversations that take place and the joy that is found is immeasurable.  God is good.  Sharing his love with those who find themselves in less fortunate situations is a blessing for all.

Beautiful Quilts handmade by these beautiful women.  Shared over the years with hospitals, shut-ins, shelters and those in long term care.  What a wonderful mission!

Mission to Seafarers.  Filling shoeboxes with toiletries, warm hats, mitts, socks and more....and of course filling them with prayer. All boxes will be delivered by our Parish Elves to the Missions to Seafarers on the waterfront.  Sharing our blessings with those who work so long and hard on the sea.

Saturday, December 8th Children's (& Adults) Christmas Shopping Event - 10:00 - 2:00 pm.  Kids of all ages can shop for gifts for family & friends, priced to fit their budget.  The day will include a Christmas table, $1.00 & $2.00 table, Baked goods table, jewellery table and much, much more.  Adults are welcome to sit and relax, have a cup of hot cider, tea/coffee and refreshment and allow our elves to help with the children's shopping.  Gifts will be wrapped and labelled and ready to take home.  Lots of fun for all!

Christmas Outreach Project - This year the Phoenix Youth Program has been chosen as the recipient of our Christmas Tree Project.  If you are able to support this ministry, simply:  Select a wish from the Christmas tree in the church.  Replace it with an ornament.  Bring in your gift by December 16th and pray for the youth and their families.  If you choose an item of clothing, it can be new or near new.  All gifts are appreciated.

Christmas Cards within the Parish.  If you wish, you may submit a Christmas wish (ie. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the ..... family) to the office at [email protected] or put your wish in with the Sunday Offering to be included in the December 17th bulletin rather than writing individual Christmas cards. This will save trees and your hands!  Then, just make a donation to your church for the amount you would have spent on Christmas cards.  There will be a box at the back of the church for those who wish to exchange cards.

Mission to Seafarers - Christmas Shoe box Program.  When ships visit the Port of Halifax during the month of December, The Mission to Seafarers in the Port of Halifax ensures each and every seafarer receives a shoe box gift.  Many of these seafarers come from third world countries and are away from their families for up to 9 months of the year.  For most, this is their only gift.  What a truly heartwarming experience this is for all who have the opportunity to help with this outreach project.  Fill a shoe box from our suggested list and drop it off to St. Timothy's Church by Sunday, December 16th for delivery or contact Linda or Wayne Joyce for more info at 902 852-4951.

St. Timothy's Offering Envelopes for the new year will be ready for distribution by the first week of December. For one more year, we will be revamping old envelopes to reflect the new 2019 year.  Just a note, some envelopes may not be in a box.  We suggest hanging onto your box from this year to see if you may need it in the new year.  Thank you again for helping to defray the cost of these envelopes.  If you or anyone you know wishes Envelopes for the upcoming year, please call Donna (902)  852-2012 or if you would prefer a Direct Monthly Deposit we can help with that also.

St. Paul's News

St. Paul's Memorial Christmas Tree Fundraiser is well under way again this year.   The tree has been set up in the church and will again be decorated with red bows.  When you purchase a bow for $3.00 in memory of your loved one(s), a white bow will replace one of the red bows on the tree and by Christmas, all the red bows will have turned to white bows.  Please contact Shirley & Jim Little (902-852-2481) to purchase a bow.  It's a pretty site to watch the many red bows disappear and be replaced to a beautiful white bowed tree come Christmas time.  Many thanks again to Shirley and Jim for all their efforts in this wonderful and festive fundraiser.

Vital Church Maritimes took place in Truro Nov 8-10.  9 members of our parish attended to hear about the exciting news of mission.

Like Mary and Saul, we are called to say YES to the Holy Spirit.  We are called to be like that teenage girl and the tent make from Taurus....listening and acting on the call of the Holy Spirit.

Interested in a more casual form of worship?  Enjoy rock music? Enjoy Christian rock music? Want to make new connections? Seeking? If you have any interest, please join us at St Timothy's on Sunday evenings at 7pm for our casual service with the rock band 'Alive'!
